Planning Your Bridal Shower Invitations

Posted by admin on Mar 17, 2009

A wedding is by far one of the most important events in any person’s life. It is a momentous occasion that will have a great deal to do with how you live the rest of your life. This is why it is important to make sure that you get every detail of your bridal shower just right, and that includes your bridal shower invitations. For many of your guests, receiving bridal shower invitations is the first time that they will be aware of your special event. It is absolutely essential therefore that the writing and the design give a good impression.

You will want your bridal shower invitations to accurately reflect your tastes and personality, as well as how you are feeling about this important occasion. A lot of this will be down to the look and feel of the bridal shower invitations, as well as in the words written on it. You can either go for a formal tone or a more casual one, keeping in mind your own personal preferences as well as the size of the event. Take care not to be too flamboyant or garish in the design of your bridal shower invitations as they may give off the wrong impression to the recipients. Of course you don’t want something that looks too bare or simplistic, as this is your bridal shower we are talking about after all. You will ideally want your bridal shower invitations to have a classy and tasteful look.

On the other hand, there may be times when a more informal or even irreverent tone is perfect for your bridal shower invitations, particularly if that is the message that you want to put across. In cases wherein the bridal shower is to be held for only a small group of friends and family, a more casual approach may be just the right thing. The important thing is to make sure that your bridal shower invitations are appropriate to the setting, your event, and your guests.

As for the information that will be written on the bridal shower invitations, you can be as short and to the point or as wordy as you like. At the minimum however, you should provide important details about the bridal shower such as the bride and the groom’s names, their parent’s names, and the time and place of the event. If you have signed up for a bridal registry, you will want to include information to that effect as well.

If you follow these simple suggestions, you can be assured of bridal shower invitations that will be as memorable as the wedding itself.

If so, you might benefit in picking a bridal shower invitation that reflects one or all of these hues. Flower selection can be another helpful factor. If the bride is a fan of lilacs, or is using them in the wedding, it would be nice to pick a bridal shower invitation that reflects that, too.

The cost of the bridal shower should not be overlooked as something to consider. Making sure that the shower invitations are within your budget is very important.

The moneyed can show their moolah with the best and the costliest invitations. This could be in form of gold and diamond encrusted invitation cards to show that you have really ‘arrived’. Others prefer a more elegant approach where the invitation is kept simple but with a good prose to lend dignity to the occasion. Oh yes, the raunchy and the wacky stuff is also there for those who prefer to walk on the wild side. For the ‘real wild ones’, the wacky and the outrageous styles of invitation cards are also on offer.

Have you chose a theme for the bridal shower? This will effect your decision on the invitations. If the shower is going to be a different theme than the wedding, you will need to take that into consideration. The design of the invitations should coordinate with the theme of the shower. If the shower is a formal event then the best design choice would be fancy elegant invitations. And bright colorful invitations would be a perfect idea for a more casual shower.

It’s possible that you might already know the chosen wedding colors to be red, cream and pink. If this is the case, you might want to pick a bridal shower invitation that reflects one or all of those hues. Flower selection can be another helpful factor. If the bride loves lilacs and is using those in the wedding, it would be very astute to pick a bridal shower invitation with lilacs printed on it.

The cost of the bridal shower should not be overlooked as something to consider.

Avoid cutesy turns of phrase. It’s too easy to write a groaner.

Choose coordinating envelopes, envelope seals, and other details. If you want to skip the step of printing and applying return labels, have the return address printed on the envelopes. When you have finished, pick out a shipping speed option.
